Turmeric Latte

WHY TURMERIC?


Historically, turmeric has been used to combat colds, inflammation, joint pain, and digestive issues (including gas and constipation). Studies say turmeric helps with the above-mentioned discomforts, and can also help with:

arthritis

headaches

bursitis

low back pain

cancer

and more


HOW?


Turmeric’s active component is curcumin, which has the power to lower histamine (adding to the anti-inflammatory goodness) and is a potent antioxidant superfood.While I know it sounds too good to be true, studies have shown that curcumin can prevent the clumping of platelets (which is associated with atherosclerosis).Studies have also shown that curcumin can help to prevent the spreading of cancers, as well as upping the effectiveness of cancer therapies.  So take a nice long bath and sip on some turmeric.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1-2 tsp honey

1/2 tsp turmeric

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground ginger

Pinch of black pepper

Optional: 1/2 tbsp coconut oil


DIRECTIONS:

Warm the almond milk in a pan on the stove or in the microwave on high for 2 minutes.

Add the remaining ingredients and whisk or blend until frothy

Enjoy!
